McDuffie (Finally) Enters Mayoral Race
After months of speculation, former D.C. Council member Kenyan McDuffie announced he will run for mayor. He’s the second to announce after Janeese Lewis George, setting up a competitive contest for Bowser’s seat in November. McDuffie has promised “economic growth with guardrails” and to protect home rule. [Washington Post 🔒]
FBI Raids Reporter’s Home
The FBI raided Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson’s Virginia home yesterday, seizing electronic devices as part of an investigation into a government contractor accused of illegally having classified materials. The Post called the move “highly unusual and aggressive” and a sign that the Trump administration will “set no limits” when it comes to independent press. [The Guardian]
