This spring we’re headed to Delaware. Wait — don’t scroll. It’s a shockingly underrated spot for some of the best getaway deals around. Travel writer Tim Ebner gives us the scoop on his best Delaware trips for around $150.
How To Pollen-Proof Your Home
It’s full-on pollen warfare out there right now, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Luckily, there are a lot of things you can do to reduce allergens in your home and avoid having the sniffles all season long.
The Best Camping Spots Within 2 Hours of DC
One of the best parts about D.C. is how accessible the outdoors is. Seriously, some of these spots you can get to via Metro. Whether you’re a full-kitchen glamper or a “I dig my own toilet” back country camper, these are our best tried-and-true spots — all within two hours of D.C.

Your Guide to DC in April 2026

Ya, they cherry blossoms are great, but have you felt the enduring high that comes with cheering your local high school basketball team or raving on Penn Avenue? I didn't think so. Here’s the best stuff to get up to in D.C. this month, real Washingtonian style.
Scream ‘Go Team’ With the Best of Them
The Washington Nationals play their first home game of the season on April 3. I mostly go for vibes but the new food options and cheaper beer this year ($9 tall boys) made me snatch up some tickets. Or, head to Capital One Arena for D.C.'s iconic Capital Classic high school basketball showcase on April 4 for some true local pride.
Taste Test at DC’s Japanese Street Festival
The Sakura Matsuri Festival is closing down Pennsylvania Avenue NW on April 11 & 12 with four performance stages, cultural demonstrations, sake garden, and most importantly, a massive traditional food marketplace. Tickets range from $20 - $30.
Walk a Mile In DC
Now that the sidewalks are ice-free, let’s embark on a local side quest. Walk a mile with us in D.C. and see what cool stuff we can find along the way! Some of our favorites have been on Georgia Avenue NW and Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

Start Picnic Season Right
It’s the beginning of prime picnic season in D.C., but with Malcolm X Park closed off until mid-summer and Logan Circle closed until June 15, it’s time to find new spots. We love Kingman Island, Haines Point, Anacostia Park, Lincoln Park, and Hillwood Estate (which will even loan you a picnic blanket).
Hear From Black DC Journalists
Head to Penn Social on April 16 for “Behind the Headlines: Stories from DC's Black Journalists” by Story District. Five Black journalists — including photographer Shedrick Pelt, USA Today's Deborah Berry, NPR's Andrew Mambo, and the Washington Informer's Micah Green — will share personal stories about covering D.C.
Dance At DC’s Biggest Outdoor Rave
Pennsylvania Avenue is transforming into a dance floor on April 18 for the GLOW Block Party with iconic British house DJ Chris Lake. There will be all-day beats, local food and art vendors, and immersive installations. Tickets start at $100 but organizers promise “the biggest party the city has ever seen.”
