McDuffie Concedes in Mayor's Race
Democratic socialist JLG is all but guaranteed to be the next D.C. mayor.

Democratic socialist JLG is all but guaranteed to be the next D.C. mayor.
As of early Wednesday morning, she led her main rival, Kenyan McDuffie, in seven of the District’s eight wards, trailing only in wealthy Ward 3.
The city doesn’t usually pick candidates like Janeese Lewis George or Kenyan McDuffie. For better or worse, that will change this year.

More than 50 percent of respondents to a City Cast poll said they were hopeful about the city’s future.
The first citywide poll of District voters shows that neither candidate has a majority in the mayor’s race. McDuffie is the leading second-place choice.
